Overview The Society for Clinical & Medical Hair Removal (SCMHR) was originally founded under the name Society for Clinical and Medical Electrologists (SCME) in 1985. The SCMHR provides certification for professional electrologists and laser hair removal professionals, public awareness campaigns about the profession, and act as an information support organization for legislation on electrolysis. The SCMHR offers four levels of certification. The first level certifies individuals as a Certified Clinical Electrologist (CCE), and the second certifies an individual as a Certified Medical Electrologist (CME).
